‘Akashtori’ lands in Dhaka

The second airplane of the three Dash-8 planes has reached in Dhaka at 5:45 pm on Wednesday which were procured under G to G basis between Bangladesh and Canada government.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has named the airplane ‘Akashtori’.

State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md. Mahbub Ali received the airplane at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

Mahbub Ali said, the Prime Minister is working to modernize the fleet of Biman Bangladesh Airlines. ‘Akashtori’ has reached in the country as part of that endeavor. The third Dash-8 airplane will reach in the country on March 4. So far 13 new and ultra modern own airplanes have been included in Biman fleet following direction and supervision of the Prime Minister.

The new Dash 8-400 airplane consists 74 seats which was made by Canadian aircraft producing company D Heavy Land. This environment friendly aircraft has a special filter technology which can kill bacteria, virus and other harmful micro organs within four minutes. It keeps the internal air fresh which helps passengers for a refreshing and safe journey. Besides, this aircraft consists of more leg space, LED lighting and has wider windows that will make the journey comfortable and pleasant for the passengers.
