Health Secretary informs about vaccination start date
The corona vaccination program will start on January 27 in Dhaka and from February 8 across the country.
Health Secretary Abdul Mannan delivered the information on Saturday.
He said, vaccines will be given from Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Kurmitola General Hospital, Mugda General Hospital, Kuwait Friendship Hospital and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University hospital.
On Thursday 20 lakh doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine produced by India’s Serum Institute reached in the country. Now the date for vaccination has been fixed.
Bangladesh government bought three crore doses of corona vaccine from Serum Institute of India. It is hoped that in the first consignment 50 lakh doses of the vaccine will be available by January 25.
