Truck-Karimon collision leaves 6 dead in Jhenaidah

Six passengers of a Karimon, a shallow engine run vehicle were killed in an accident when it collided with a truck at Madandanga area under Shailakupa upazila in Jhenaidah district. Five more people were injured in the accident.

The incident took place at around 6:30 pm on Wednesday. Later fire service staffs and local inhabitants rescued the injured.

It was known that 12 construction workers were returning home after completion of their work. On the way at Madandanga area a speedy truck hit the Karimon from behind. The driver lost his control and the vehicle fell on the road. At that time a goods laden truck with full speed crushed the people and managed to flee. Six people were killed on the spot. Injured persons were sent to different hospitals in the district.

Deputy Assistant Director Shamimul Islam confirmed the matter to Rtv news.
