But only three years later on 15th August 1975 a gruesome chapter was created in the history of Bangladesh by killing father of the nation. But those who wanted to turn the independence meaningless are failed at the moment.
She said this at a discussion on the occasion of Bangabandhu’s home coming day organized at the Awami League central office in the capital on Sunday. The Prime Minister joined the program virtually from her Gonobhaban residence in the evening.
The premier said, after language movement Bangabandhu had to serve jail time and again. Wherever he went he was arrested. Sometimes he was granted bail. The rulers put him in jail again and again because he worked for the people.
She said, Bangabandhu took preparation for guerilla warfare. In his 7th March speech there were all the directions to run an independent state. He made a self reliant country only in three and half years.
