Joint water flow measuring starts at Hardinge Bridge point

Representatives of Bangladesh-India joint river commission are performing survey work of water flow at Hardinge Bridge point on the river Padma at Pakshi area under Pabna district according to the 30 years water sharing treaty between the two neighboring countries.

The survey work will continue till May 31 which has begun on Saturday morning.

Executive Engineer of Pabna Water Development Board and chief of northern region water measuring division Raiz Uddin said, after signing the 30 year water sharing treaty with India in 1996, every year the water flow measuring activities are done from January 1 to May 31 in every year. It is a continuous process.

Indian central water measuring committee divisional chief Venkat P Sharlu, assistant director Nagendra Kumar, Pabna water development board deputy divisional engineer and team leader Morshedul Islam and Mofazzal Hossian among others were present during the water flow measuring process.
