Corona vaccines may arrive in November: Health Minister

Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque said, currently the countries which have completed third phase clinical trial after inventing corona vaccines, Russia is one of those countries in advance stage. Marketing of these vaccines may take place in November next. We are trying to get the vaccine on preferential basis.

He said this to the newsmen while answering question of newsmen at his office on Monday.

The Health Minister said, at present 10 institutions have invented corona vaccines. Of them four to five companies have completed third phase trial. We are maintaining communication with all of them. Letters are being exchanged.

He said, of the institutions that would produce vaccines here after coordinating with our local medicine producing companies, we will go for agreement with them. In this way we will get vaccines easily. We are giving preference in this matter.

The minister said, most of our social programs take place in winter, like wedding, picnic and journey. People’s movement increase in this time. Besides, cold related diseases increase in this time. Considering the matters we are taking our work plans.

The Prime Minister has directed us in this regard. We hope, we can control corona in the coming winter, he added.
