Bangladesh sees 32 coronavirus deaths, 1407 new cases
Bangladesh’s confirmed coronavirus tally reached 360,555 on Monday after the health authorities recorded 1,407 cases.
Thirty-two deaths were also recorded in the past 24 hours, taking total fatalities up to 5,193.
The mortality rate in Bangladesh is still 1.44 percent while the recovery rate is 75.46 percent, a handout from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.
During the last 24 hours, 1,582 patients recovered, taking the number of recoveries to 272,073.
Currently, there are 83,289 active cases in the country.
Since March, country’s RT-PCR labs have tested 1,921,382 samples – 11,922 in the last 24 hours – and 18.77 percent have turned out to be positive.
Bangladesh is seeing 2117.1 infections, 1,597.55 recoveries per million while 30.49 are dying against the same number.
Of the total victims, 4,018 are men and 1,175 are women. Of the latest victims, 28 are above 50 and four are between 41 and 50 years.
So far, 2,591 people have died in Dhaka division, 1,068 in Chattogram, 340 in Rajshahi, 433 in Khulna, 187 in Barishal, 228 in Sylhet, 237 in Rangpur and 109 in Mymensingh.
Across the country, 15,518 people are now in isolation and 44,227 in quarantine.
In Bangladesh, the first three cases of coronavirus infection were detected on March 8. The cases reached the 300,000-mark on August 26.
The first death was reported on March 18 and the death toll exceeded 5,000 on September 22.
