Mosque committee did not inform about gas line leakage: Titas
While constructing the column of the Baitus Salat Jame Mosque at Talla area in Narayanganj the nearby gas line was damaged. But the mosque committee members did not inform about that to the Titas Gas authority. The explosion at the mosque occurred due to that leakage of the gas pipeline.
The Titas Gas Authority has submitted its probe report to the ministry on Thursday afternoon mentioning the information. It said that there was an illegal electricity connection in the mosque for alternative use.
The investigation report also said that gas was stored in the mosque from the leaked pipeline and the explosion occurred due to short circuit while connecting the illegal electricity line.
It also said that no document was found about the complain of gas pipeline leakage submitted by the locals or mosque committee. But many told the committee that they have complained about the leakage to Titas verbally.
State Minister for power, energy and mineral resources Nasul Hamid Bipu said that the Titas submitted probe report will be examined.
