BNP to resist price hike of gas-electricity: Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, BNP will protest and resist with its full effort if prices of electricity and gas are raised.

He said this at a press conference on Sunday. Earlier the BNP Secretary General held a joint meeting with the leaders of its different affiliated organizations.

Mirza Fakhrul said, the country at the brink of establishing one party rule. There is no right and democracy for the people of Bangladesh. In this situation we are going to observe the independence day.

BNP vice chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu, senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, joint secretary generals Moazzem Hossain Alal, Khairul Kabir Khokon among others were present at the press conference.

Seven days long program on the occasion of independence day

BNP has declared seven days long programs on the occasion of independence day. Party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, we have taken seven days long programs to observe the independence day with due fervor. Of those three days will be observed with initiatives of BNP and the other four days will be by associate organizations.

Mirza Fakhrul said, if we get permission then discussion meeting and cultural program will be organized at Engineers Institutions or at Mohanagar Natya Mancha on March 25 afternoon. On March 26 morning national flag and party flag will be hoisted at the central office and throughout the country and tributes will be paid to the martyrs at the national mausoleum in Savar. On that day tributes will also be paid and fateha will be offered at the grave of Ziaur Rahman at 11 am.

Mentioning that on March 27 colorful rally will be organized on the occasion of independence day, Mirza Fakhrul said, the time of rally will be fixed after getting permission from the administration. Besides, Chhatra Dal, Juba Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal and others will observe other programs in their convenient way.
