Decision on opening primary schools today
Due to the situation arising around the quota reform movement, the government announced the closure of all government primary schools for an indefinite period. Officials of Primary and Mass Education Ministry will hold a meeting on Sunday (July 28) regarding when the primary schools will open.
Farid Ahmed, Secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, gave this information on Saturday (27 July) afternoon.
He said that efforts are underway to open government primary schools within this week. A meeting will be held on Sunday (July 28) to take a final decision on when the school will open.
Earlier on Wednesday, Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, Mahbubur Rahman Tuhin said, considering the safety of the students, the primary school has been closed for an indefinite period. Schools will remain closed until further notice.
Earlier, the Ministry of Education announced the closure of all secondary and higher secondary level educational institutions (schools, colleges, madrasas and technical institutes) and polytechnic institutes under the Ministry of Education until further orders.
