Several lakh telephone numbers including Fire Service are out of order

Several lakh telephone numbers of different areas in the capital including control room of the Fire Service and Civil Defense Directorate have gone out of order as a ‘core cable’ of government owned telecommunication company BTCL was cut.

The core cable of BTCL was accidently cut at the Moghbazar area. For this the standstill situation occurred from Friday morning.
For this reason nobody can communicate with Fire Service and Civil Defense Directorate.

But it was said from Fire Service Control Room that anybody can communicate with the control room with the following phone numbers, 01730336699 and 01713038182.

Director General of Fire Service and Civil Defense Ali Ahammed Khan said, suddenly in the morning all the BTCL numbers of the control room went out of order. So nobody is able to inform the information of accident and fire in the control room.

BTCL Director (Public Relations and Publications) Mir Mohammad Morshed said, the core cable was cut on Thursday night following renovation work of City Corporation. The situation will be normal very soon.
