People suffer as Dhaka bound public transport services halted

The Dhaka bound public transport from outskirts of the city were halted from Sunday morning suddenly. For this the passengers were in immense sufferings. Many sufferers, who started their journey towards Dhaka had to pay extra fare for CNG auto rickshaws and rickshaws.

Public transport movement turned limited from the morning in Munshiganj, Narayanganj and Sonargaon. General people complained that the transport services were stopped as the time went on.

Meanwhile, when the transport owners were asked about the reason behind the haltation of vehicle movement they could not answer anything clearly.

The all kinds public transport movement was snapped between Munshiganj and Dhaka from the morning.In the morning passengers at the bus stand of Shimulia alleged that all types of Dhaka bound bus service was stopped from 7 am. Passengers were in disarray over the sudden haltation that came without any prior notice. Passengers were seen waiting at different points of Dhaka-Mawa highway.

Munshiganj district BNP General Secretary Kamruzzaman Ratan said in the morning that the bus plying was stopped by the owners association due to the gathering of BNP and to prevent leaders and activists of the party to join the program in Dhaka.

Meanwhile, centering the gathering of BNP at SuhrawarthyUddyan all types of transport plying was stopped in Narayanganj. Only air-conditioned bus service Shital Paribahan was running from Metro Hall and Chashara counter towards Dhaka.Train service was operational but there was schedule disaster as most of the trains could not maintain the time.

Passengers complained that to do their necessary work they wanted to go Dhaka but found no mass transport. So they were waiting for train but that also are leaving long after the schedule time.
An on-duty traffic official said that he marked that the buses are not running but the reason is not known to him.

Organizing Secretary of district BNP Masukul Islam Rajib said, government stopped the transport movement from the morning fearing Dhaka bound flow of general people and leaders and activists of the party.

He said that people’s participation in the gathering will not be stopped by this kind of activity rather it will bring sufferings for the working people.
